Website Design: Ribbon UK

Project details:

  • eCommerce store
  • stock management system
  • SEO
  • Product Photography

Ribbon Uk are wholesalers of ribbon, satin & grosgrain ribbons & have a wide customer base from individuals to small & large companies. I was asked to re-design and build a new website that would not only be simple to use but optimised for mobile devices.

One element I am particularly pleased with was how the use of two different headers turned out. For the home page, I used a transparent header to offer an uninterrupted view of the product gallery. But once in the shop, the header becomes a more conventional fixed style.

Along with the website build, I have photographed & edited each product to achieve pure white backgrounds throughout the whole website.

It has been great to work on such a premium domain and with my ongoing support with their SEO needs, I look forward to continuing to help Ribbon UK succeed online.

Logo Design: V73 Clothing

Customer’s Brief:

The numbers are key, my current logo is so dull and everyone does the typical typography with numbers. I want an effect, I want style & I want a great blend between Vintage/Retro & Modern – Whoever does the numbers right will attract a lot of attention from me – Good Luck.

Sometimes when I’m bored I enter design events for fun. Competition is usually high as you are competing against graphic designers from all around the world & not just Devon!

The V73 logo I designed was the chosen winner out of 198 designs from 98 different graphic designers. One downside to these events is you cannot speak with the client directly, however, this can have a positive effect as you can offer them ideas they may not have considered at first.

I must admit though when I win one of these events it can be a real confidence boost, not only because I’ve beaten other designers but mainly because my design has stood out from the crowd!
